Winter skincare

The winter season can be incredibly harsh on your skin. The lack of moisture in the air strips your skin of the moisture and hydration that it needs to stay plump. This winter I’ve had to change up some of my products to take on these dry winter months.

The last time I spoke about skincare I had a very different routine! Lancome released a new cleanser called Miel en Mousse. I am SO impressed with this product because this is the perfect two in one makeup remover and cleanser. It starts out with a very thick consistency, you apply it on dry skin and as you massage it into your skin it breaks down makeup. Add some warm water and it cleanses your skin without leaving a trace of makeup, dirt, oil, or impurities and it leaves the skin feeling hydrated and supple.

I have a new found love for exfoliating peel pads! Neogen Bio Peel exfoliating pads have been my go to all winter. They get rid of my dry and dull skin with the vitamin C from lemons as well as the dirt and unwanted oil in my skin.

Another product I’m using to keep the dry skin off the surface of my skin is the Drunk Elephant TLC Framboos Glycoic Night Serum. This serum eats away at my dry skin with 12 percent AHA/BHA. I use this every night and in the morning I wake up with smooth skin!

Drunk Elephant penetrates my skin yet again with B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Gel. My skin is pretty oily, textured, and acne prone but I need hydration to help keep my oil under control! This Gel is thin so it absorbs quickly into the skin and keeps my skin plump, hydrated, and free of texture!

Personally I love oils for my skin. Sunday Riley has two oils that I ADORE, the Luna oil and the UFO oil. Luna is a night time retinol treatment that helps reduce pores. I had huge pores on my cheeks that I tried for months to get rid of and everything I tried just wouldn’t work. It was getting very annoying. Once I tried the Luna, within a few weeks I started noticing that my pores were starting to shrink. The UFO I’ve used for quite some time, it’s a clarifying oil that has tea tree oil in it that helps fight off breakouts. You can also add these oils into any moisturizer.

The Protini Polypeptide Cream has given my skin all the moisture it needs without making me feel oily. It also helps reduce fine lines, wrinkles, and sun damage! I really like Drunk Elephants products because they use clean ingredients that won’t clog my pores or irritate my sensitive skin.

This winter has been crazy here in Houston. I am not used to this dry cold air, neither is my skin, but these products helped tremendously!
