Empty Beauty Products Review!

It’s that time again! My beauty empties box is FULL and ready to be written about!  Most of my empties this time are complexion and hair care products. The product obsession is REAL y’all so when I finish a product completely it’s a big deal! Some of the products I adore, others not so much… So lets just dive into this beauty trash bin of mine.

Makeup Remover

Farmacy Green Clean has been my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE makeup remover this month. This one is a balm to oil cleanser, I double cleanse so I use this to remove makeup and then use a different cleanser afterwards. It removes everything, even waterproof makeup and eye makeup. One thing I love about Farmacy is that their ingredients are all natural and after using this I don’t feel like a film of oil is sitting on my skin.

If you have visited my blog before you know the struggle is real when it comes to finding makeup wipes that I like. The struggle continues because I tried these. Garnier Skin Active Clean Purifying Oil Free Cleansing Towelettes. I hate these too. They smell like house hold cleaner and I am just not about it. They removed my makeup but I was terrified to remove my eye makeup with them because of how harsh the smell was. So I will be trying something new…again.

The first cleanser I want to mention is the Tatcha The Deep Cleanse cleanser. Talk about skin therapy, I LOVE this cleanser. It is so gentle on the skin, I love that it exfoliates, removes impurities from the skin and hydrates all at once. The only thing I wasn’t crazy about was the packaging, you have to squeeze the bottle to get the product out I would’ve preferred a pump personally.

Skin Laundry isn’t a very well known or talked about brand but Sephora carries it so I gave it a shot. It was okay. Definitely not my favorite, mainly because I didn’t notice a huge difference in my skin after using it for a few weeks. Honestly, I used it to clean my brushes more than my skin!

In a previous post I spoke about the Lancome Miel en Mousse cleanser, I loved it then and I despise it now unfortunately. I love the concept of it, but the more I used it the more acne breakouts I got.  I think it was the fragrance in the formula so this one is a no for me.

Exfoliating is very important, it removes dead skin cells from the surface of your face and allows other skin products to penetrate deeper giving you the best results. Neogen is a relatively new brand and they have peel pads that are AMAZING! I purchased the lemon infused pads for brightening, exfoliating, and also for fighting bacteria. The best thing about these peel pads is that they are gentle but effective. I recommend enzymatic exfoliators opposed to physical exfoliators for acne prone skin because micro-beads will move bacteria around the skin and cause breakouts in other areas of the face.

Prime and Set

I tried a little mini size Cover FX mattifying primer that also had acne treatment in it as well. I really liked this one, it kept my makeup on, didn’t dry out my skin, blurred out texture, and on top of that helped treat the breakouts on my skin. Sounds like a winner to me!

Setting spray is a must- have in my everyday makeup routine, I tried the Too Faced Hangover 3-in-1 setting spray and I love it SO much! It preps, sets, and refreshes my makeup throughout the day with coconut water I also like how it diffuses any powder on my skin making it look fresh and smooth.

Foundation and Concealer

The Too Faced Born This Way foundation made its way into the world three years ago and the brand hasn’t been the same since. Coconut water infused foundation? YES PLEASE! If you love hydrating, medium to full foundation, this foundation is for you. How to apply foundation: I like to use this one with a beauty blender because it looks more skin like as opposed to a brush.

Concealer is a product that has to be perfect or I hate it. We all know the iconic Tarte Shape Tape right? Can we just take a moment to appreciate and admire the formula please? I am normally not a fan of really thick concealers but maaaan this one just gets the job done. My under eye area has slight discoloration when I use the shape tape I don’t have to use a color corrector which is a big deal for me.

Bare Minerals is a brand I feel gets over looked all the time, to be honest there aren’t too many complexion products that I really like but their Bare Skin concealer is AMAAAAZING. The formula is smooth and thin but the coverage is pretty good and is more of an everyday concealer. I like to apply this one with a flat concealer brush because it places and blends out perfectly beauty blenders tend to soak up this formula.

Too Faced Shadow Insurance is in my opinion the best eyeshadow primer I’ve ever used and I have tried several. I have talked about this before here on the blog so that goes to show how much I really do love this primer. My eyeshadow NEVER creases or fades when I use this one.

Another product you have heard me mention before is the TooFaced Better Than Sex Mascara. I think I have gone through three of these but I just love that it lifts, gives volume, and curls my lashes with collagen.

It Cosmetics is known for their CC Cream that changed the beauty world for the better. One product by IT that is very rarely mentioned is the Superhero mascara. Super Hero mascara is the only mascara that I have found that is wearable on my bottom lashes without transferring onto my concealer underneath my eye. That is impressive. Will I be repurchasing? Yes absolutely.

I am always on the hunt for a new dry shampoo and the one I just finished is by the brand Hask I picked it up at Walgreens. It is gives great volume and absorbs the oil in my hair, I liked it but I felt like I went through it very quickly.

Ouai? Ouai. Sooooo I was very disappointed in the Ouai Dry Shampoo Foam I liked it to style my hair but not as a dry shampoo. My hair still looked oily even after massaging it into my scalp but it did hold my style well. I actually didn’t get to finish this product because the button you press down to release the product is stuck… I was able to use it about 5 times before it got stuck and wouldn’t release the product.

(PS Ouai means Yeah)

A Ouai product I absolutely loved was the Memory Mist. If you don’t like the smell of gardenia then you will not like this product. The Memory Mist is a heat protector and also holds your style, I always have a hard time finding products that will help with hairstyles for fine hair. My hair never holds a curl unless I use a strong hold hairspray, when I used the Memory Mist I didn’t have to use a hairspray at all!

I usually use body products from the Body Shop but while shopping at Target I stumbled upon this body soap and I liked the packaging so I bought it… Love Beauty and Planet stole my heart a week after I started using it. It’s main ingredient is tea tree oil, if you have acne prone skin then tea tree oil will be your new bff. Within a week of using it I noticed a difference in the redness on my shoulders and that was enough for me to continue to use it and to purchase another one. They have different scents and maybe I’ll try a different one next time but I love this one too much to change it up just yet.

I would love to hear what products you have finished this month, let me know in the comments below!
