Beauty Tips for Summer

What is more important during summertime than protecting your skin? Let’s chat about summer skincare first, that’s right, sunscreen. As much as I want a nice bronze tan I want healthy skin even more so everyday (especially during summer) I use sunscreen under my makeup. We all know that sunscreen is important to apply at the beach or at the pool but what about during your drive to work or taking a walk? Don’t worry I never did either. If you’re going to be outside for long periods of time make sure you do reapply every two hours.

I’ve been using the Korres Suncare Yoghurt I have to be careful with what I put on my face, so when I found a sunscreen with great ingredients I jumped all over it. It does so much more than protect your skin, it hydrates, repairs, and helps reduces redness. It also wears really well under makeup which is a huge plus.

Here in Texas summertime is brutally hot, so when I know I’m going to be outside I like to go really light on my makeup. I usually grab for a tinted moisturizer instead of a full coverage foundation. YSL launched their Touche Eclat All-In-One Glow this year, I was kind of skeptical about it but now I am half way finished with it! What I love about this tinted moisturizer is the wear time, usually I have a hard time with tinted moisturizers staying on my skin but it doesn’t budge.

Let’s be real, is it really summer without bronzer and highlight? My all time favorite bronzer as you may already know, is the Bobbi Brown Bronzing Powder. I use this bronzer more than any bronzer I have because it warms up my skin without an orange tint.

I have two highlight products that I grab for and those are the Inglot Face-Eyes-Body Sparkling Dust and the Bobbi Brown Highlighting Powder in Afternoon Glow. I love glowing skin in the summer, I don’t want my highlight to be glittery or powdery and these two just get the job done for me! They leave my skin with a beautiful glow within.

Summer is all about bronze and glow right? What about the eyes? That’s right… Bronze and glow on the eyes as well. My favorite palette right now for a nice summer bronze eye is the Anastasia Beverly Hills Soft Glam Palette. The warm tone brown are perfect for a bronze eye I also like to add a pop of Rigel which is a Duel Intensity eyeshadow by NARS. It is a nice soft glowing shadow that I like to apply with my finger first then blend out any harsh edges.

A classic red lip is always in style, Hourglass has the perfect red lipstick called Icon. This true red lipstick is beautiful on all skin tones, it has a perfect mix of blue, purple, and pink tones which is what makes it so flattering on everyone. It is a nice creamy, hydrating, and long lasting formula that everyone needs to have in their makeup collection.
