It’s that time again! The beauty trash stash has grown and I can’t wait to share the products with you!
Of course I go through skincare A LOT faster than I finish makeup products.
Boscia Charcoal Makeup Melter is pretty good, it removes makeup and purifies the skin. I wasn’t crazy about is the thickness of the product but it got the job done! it removed my makeup but it isn’t a product I will grab for again because there are other removers that are thinner and just as effective.
I was having a really hard time with breakouts and acne right after I moved to Downtown Houston. One of my coworkers told me about PanOxyl, a cleanser that really helped her skin drastically. It has 10% Benzoyl Peroxide which is an antibacterial that also helps prevent future breakouts. I could only use it once a day because it did dry out my skin but I would definitely buy it again if my acne flared up that bad again!
Since I could only use the PanOxyl once a day I used the Clean Bee cleanser by Farmacy to continue to fight bacteria but to also hydrate my skin. Honey is an antimicrobial and antibacterial so it’s amazing for acne prone skin. This cleanser also has Chamomile, Calendula, Turmeric, and Aloe to soothe the skin and help with inflammation. Another important ingredient is hyaluronic acid, which hydrates the skin.
You’ve probably seen in a previous post my love for Laneige. Their Multi Cleanser was amazing especially for having pretty oily skin, I needed the oil control at the time and this did the job! It cleansed and lightly exfoliated my skin with papaya enzymes, my skin always felt soft and clean after using it.
I’m not a fan of drinking green tea however put it in a cleanser and I am all for it! Neogen did it again with their Green Tea Cleanser! Green Tea is an antioxidant that helps fight off free radicals in the air that cause damage to the skin. This cleanser made my skin feel clean and hydrated right after the first use!
After trying the last few cleansers I didn’t know what I wanted to try out next! At the time my skin was a little on the dry side, so I decided to try out Peter Thomas Roth Water Drench Cloud Cream Cleanser. I love the light creamy feeling of this cleanser, it felt soft and airy on my skin. Talk about your one and done cleanser, it removes makeup and cleanses the skin. Like I said earlier I really like to use a makeup remover then a cleanser afterwords, I did use this cleanser twice at nighttime if I had makeup on. Just to be on the safe side.
My next step in any skin routine is to use a micellar water or a toner luckily the Caudalie Micellar Cleansing Water does both! It is such a great step in anyones routine because it removes any excess dirt, oil, and makeup without stripping your skin of any natural oils that it needs. Not to mention it brightens, soothes, softens and hydrates with natural plant extracts.
Peter Thomas Roth just takes the cake with his exfoliators. There are two that I just finished using and you have to try them! The first one is Firm X Peeling Gel which is an enzymatic exfoliator that clings to dry skin on the surface of the face, lifts it, and the dry skin rolls away as you massage your skin. My skin looked so rejuvenated like I had just had a professional facial.
The second one is the Acne Face and Body Scrub also by Peter Thomas Roth. Salicylic Acid is my skin’s BFF especially since I’m acne prone. This exfoliator really improved my skin by removing the texture and unclogging pores with jojoba beads, treating the breakouts with salicylic acid, and cleared up my skin with glycolic acid.
I have written about the UFO Oil by Sunday Riley before, it took me a really long time but I have finally finished an entire bottle of this oil! Would I purchase it? Yes, however I would get the smaller bottle because I could only use it for a few weeks at a time. My skin kept getting used to it so it wouldn’t work as I needed it to. I love the ingredients though, a mix of Tea Tree Oil, Black Cumin Seed Oil, and of course my beloved salicylic acid, fights off breakouts and clears blackheads.
It takes me FOREVER to finish makeup products because I have way too much. I am very picky when it comes to concealer because I have dark circles and those bad boys need to be covered! The first concealer I finished was the Maybelline Master Concealer. This one wasn’t my fave honestly. It showed every line and crease I have under my eyes I ended up only using it for cleaning up my brows.
The second concealer I used is the Maybelline Fit Me concealer which I REALLY liked and will definitely repurchase. The undertones in this formula are warmer so they correct and conceal under the eyes. I didn’t have an issue with creasing or fading throughout the day. That’s a win in my beauty book!
