YouTube: My “Go To” Summer Makeup

You asked and I delivered! My YouTube Channel is FINALLY up and running. I’ve been talking about this channel for years but I wanted to do it the right way. In the first video I break down one of my all time favorite looks using my Anastasia Beverly Hills Soft Glam Palette and other summer faves!

My brow products haven’t changed too much. I’ve been using the Benefit Foolproof Brow Powder and ABH Tinted Brow Gel. My brows are naturally black but my hair has never been that dark. The Brow gel really coats my brow hair and makes them a slightly lighter.

I was kind of stuck in a rut with my eyeshadow primers for a while. Not because I didn’t like the one I was using but because I really just wanted something new. When Anastasia Beverly Hills released her formula… OMG I was pumped. Not going to lie I didn’t care for it at first, but the more I played with it the more I loved it. It really adheres to shadow well.

Soft Glam has been my “go to” palette for a while now… almost a year. The colors are great for everyday or a night out! In my crease I used Burnt Orange, just to emphasize my eyes just a little. To add a little depth I used Sienna, which is slightly deeper but not too harsh. In the outer corner I used Mulberry which is my favorite Burgundy shadow EVER! On a small brush I took a small amount of Noir (which is super black and matte) very close to my lash line and created a smokey wing. For a little highlight I used the color Glistening on my inner corner. I decided I need a little glitter and added the Tarte Sea Glass liquid shadow in the color Suite Life.

Eyeliner and mascara are important right? My fave’s right now are both by Too Faced. The Better Than Sex liquid liner is AMAZING. In the past with other liquid liners I’ve had an issue when trying to apply liquid liner on top of glitter. THIS LINER GLIDES ON GLITTER YALL! It doesn’t get caught on the chunks of glitter or disrupt the placement! They also just launched a new mascara called Damn Girl. Let me tell you something…. DAMN GIRL THIS MASCARA IS A DREAM COME TRUE! I don’t wear false lashes often because they irritate my eyes sometimes. But regular mascara doesn’t always do the trick. This mascara has melting waxes in it that give INCREDIBLE length and volume!

Perfecting complexion is one of my favorites things to do with makeup. Houston summer’s are HAWWWWT. So I need something to last even if I’m outside for a few hours in the heat. I’m oily, but I don’t like to be matte. So I’ve been using the Milk Hydro Gripping Primer and I LOVE it! It hydrates my skin but it doesn’t make me oily and all of my foundations stick to it!

My foundation however I do use something a little more matte because if I do too much hydration I look like an oil slick. My summer foundation this year has been the Lancome Teint Idol. It’s medium to full coverage so it is buildable. It’s the only foundation I have found that can withstand this heat.

I naturally have dark circles under my eyes, so a concealer is a must have for me. Too Faced Born This Way Multi Use Concealer is my jam. It conceals my dark circles, doesn’t move throughout the day, and doesn’t crease!

Who doesn’t love a good contour, blush, and highlight combo! Huda Beauty recently launched a cream to powder contour formula called Tantour and I am LOVING it! The day it launched in store I was applying it on a client. After applying it on her, I fell in love and bought it myself! The shade range is BEAUTIFUL! There are 5 colors, and each of them contour perfectly without looking orange or red!

Blush is important, we need to add a little color back in to our cheeks I have been loving the Nudestix Nudies Matte blush in Sunset Strip. I love how hydrating they are without making my skin look greasy and oily. The color selection is really nice too, because they are creams, the colors are more vibrant and will show on any skin tone.

Glowing skin is a must! The Highlight I’ve been grabbing for this summer is the Soft Glow Highlighter in the color Heavenly by Kokie Cosmetics. They sent me a box of their summer best sellers and I can see why this was in it. It gives a healthy glow to the skin without flecks of glitter.

A look isn’t complete without a good lip combo. Morphe Lip Liners are great quality for a great price. Three dollars for a lip liner? And it stays? I think yes! The color I used is in the color Frenchie, it’s a pinky nude that emphasizes my lip line but still looks soft. Marc Jacobs is one of my all time favorite brands, in this video I used their Le Marc Creme Liquid Lipstick in Fawn Over Me. This lippie is one of my faves because it’s creamy, comfortable, long wearing, and the color pay off is wonderful!
