Being the product lover that I am, I rarely finish a product before moving on to a different one. When I do finish something, you know it either had to be good or I was testing out the full effect. Some of these I really liked others not so much.
The first products I’m going to talk about are skincare products. I didn’t have any cleansers to mention but I do want to talk about the Martian Toner from Sunday Riley. The packaging allows you to pump the product instead of tip the bottle over on a cotton round. I use half a pump in dry hands and pat it into my skin. I love the feel and smell of this toner, it mattifies, clarifies, tightens, and clears out pores! This toner gets 5 stars from me!
Drunk Elephant has won over my skin with the TLC Framboos Glycolic Night Serum! I love anything with glycolic acid in it because of my oily and problematic skin. The AHA’s and BHA’s in this serum deliver a perfect chemical exfoliation without irritating the skin. It also targets signs of aging, discoloration, pores, excess oil, and dry skin all in one product!
IT Cosmetics Confidence in a Cream is a moisturizer EVERYONE needs to try. IT prides itself on working with plastic surgeons to create the products perfect for everyone. It’s ability to prevent texture, blur imperfections and deeply hydrate are phenomenal. The lightweight feel is perfect under makeup as well!
Shesiedo Bio Performance LiftDynamic Eye Cream wasn’t my favorite. I used it for about 3 months until the bottle was completely empty and I just didn’t notice a difference at all. It’s supposed to be lifting and sculpting around the eye area, and I just didn’t see a difference with this product.
Anytime I have a client needing a recommendation for a makeup remover I always turn to IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Makeup! It is a makeup melter so it is oil based but doesn’t leave an oily film on the skin after you remove it. What I like is that it is gentle enough to remove eye makeup without burning or leaving a film on my eyes. Bye Bye makeup removes all impurities from my skin without scrubbing or toners and leaves my skin soft and smooth.
I told you about one eye cream I wasn’t fond of but I did try one that I really really liked and will be repurchasing! IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Undereye changed my undereye life! You name it does it. It hydrates, reduces fine lines, depuffs, and brightens dramatically. Normally you need to give a product about two weeks before seeing a difference in your skin, however I noticed a difference within days.
The last skincare product I am going to tell you about is the Sephora Collection Mud Mask Purifying & Mattifying. If you have oily and problematic skin you will adore this mask! I was a bit skeptical at first because it’s only $20 but I am EXTREMELY impressed with this product! It absorbs oil, sebum, reduces pore size, and reduces blemishes with Zinc, Copper, and white clay. When your skin needs a detox or just a spot treatmeant head over to Sephora and pick this guy up, you will not regret it!
I only have two hair products I’m going to talk about and the first one is the HASK Argan from Morocco Dry Shampoo. I’m that girl who lives off of dry shampoo four days out of the week. Honestly I don’t like spending $25 on a dry shampoo so I get mine from Walgreens for $7.99 and the can is bigger than most others. It absorbs oil with rice starch, freshens hair without phthates and artificial color.
My hair is usually straight as a board unless I style it before blow drying. Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray is my go to if I don’t want to curl my hair but I still want a nice windswept style. I use this on my hair when its wet then blow dry it and I’m good to go all day long.
Of course the iconic Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Brow and Brow Wiz made into my empties box! The Dip Brow was perfect when I was growing out certain areas of my eye brows because it gave the illusion that I had full brows. I love the waterproof formula and the wear time is perfect for this Houston weather!
Brow Wiz is my current brow product so I did repurchase it. I like more of a natural brow, so this thin pencil is perfect for creating the illusion of brow hair. I have pretty full brows so I don’t need a lot, I usually fill in lightly then add a tinted brow gel on top of it.
The complexion products that made it to the empties box are mostly foundations. First is the Becca Evermatte Foundation, this one stole my heart from the very first use. It’s comfortable on the skin, full coverage, doesn’t clog pores and is formulated with Becca’s Evermatte Technology. This Technology mattifies the skin without drying out your skin, it stays on all day, and doesn’t melt in the heat!
Givenchy is also a brand who knew what they were doing when creating foundation! They are smart foundations, I know what you’re thinking… “What in the world is a smart foundation?” It has a technology that mattifies where your oily and hydrates when you’re dry. I love the feel and wear time of the Teint Couture foundation, it’s lightweight, last all day, and doesn’t make me look oily or dry all day long.
Cover FX Custom Cover Drops is a product I think I need to try again. This product is best used by mixing it into a moisturizer of your choice. It’s basicly pigment in a bottle. If you use it alone it will be WAY too heavy on your skin and get cakey. Cover FX is considered a vegan brand, it is gluten, fragrance, mineral oil, talc, and paraban free. It doesn’t clog pores and is wonderful if you have sensitive skin.
Laura Mercier Candle Glow foundation is great if you’re a little more dry and don’t want full coverage. I like this for my “No makeup look” because all it does is even out the skin tone without heavy coverage and gives a really beautiful glow.
Another Laura Mercier product that made my empties box is the iconic Translucent powder. Some use it for baking under the eye but when I use this powder on ANY foundation it increases the weartime by far!
Bobbi Brown Cream Color Corrector is my go to corrector that I can’t seem to get away from. The warm tone corrects my undereye area so well that I just can’t get enough of it. Everytime I run out of it, I have to repurchase it there is just nothing like it!
Sephora Collection has correctors as well. I finished up my yellow one but I didn’t care for it too much. It didn’t seem to correct much of anything and I just ended up mixing it with concealer to make them brighter. It wasn’t horrible, it just wasn’t what I needed.
Every time I finish a product I will be putting it in a box under my vanity and when it gets full I will write a post about them. Stay tuned for the next round of empties!
